Biographical Info

Dave’s professional background is in public sector land use planning. He worked as Planning Director for a city near Cleveland, Ohio for many years. During that time, he was also extensively involved with regional water quality management planning under Section 208 of the Clean Water Act (PL 92500, as amended), as well as working closely with regional metropolitan planning organizations (NOACA and NEFCO) on this endeavor. He served as a trustee of the Chagrin River Watershed Partners during which time he worked on watershed planning and the drafting and subsequent adoption of sustainable development regulations into Aurora, Ohio’s Codified Ordinances. This also included the development and adoption of one the first riparian zoning ordinances in the state of Ohio. Additional responsibilities included serving as chairman of the Portage County Regional Planning Commission, and as a member of the Newbury Township Zoning Commission. Dave is currently, and has been for many years, a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association, and the Ohio Chapter of that organization. Presently he is working on forest preservation issues with the Ohio Chapter of the Sierra Club, specifically on the Shawnee State Forest. Dave also works as a volunteer with the Licking County Soil and Water Conservation District.
